Born in Sweden, Annika Berglund moved to Ireland in 1991.
She has been active in ceramics for the last 20 years. In the last few years she has also been working in glass and bronze.
Highlights from her career include her first solo exhibition in 2006, participating in the RDS Craft Competition exhibition in 2007 and 2010 and winning
the Crafts Council's price for Best Craft in the Garden at Bloom 2008, the National University of Ireland Art and Design Prize 2010 and
the Hungry Hill Gallery Award 2011.
She finished a degree in Craft Design (Honour), in NCAD with First Class Honours in 2010 and is
featured in the book Irish Ceramics released in April 2011 and the new edition in 2014. She featured on the radio show Global Village on Newstalk in 2014.
In 2013 she spent a year working as Artist in Residence in the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) Dublin which culminated in a
solo show "Materiality", in the Olivier Cornet Gallery in Dublin.
In 2015 she participated in the group exhibition Hopscotch, a group show presented by the
Olivier Cornet Gallery at Vue, Ireland’s National Contemporary Art Fair at the RHA. She was also asked to invite 3 other ceramics artists
for a group show on the theme of the 4 elements resulting in the exhibition "In Their Element", also in the Olivier Cornet Gallery.
